German All Star Game

I was selected to play in the German All Star Game on January 23, 2010. I will be joined by two of my teammates and other players from throughout the league. This is such an honor when I'm constantly giving 100% on the court.

Check out this video highlighting me, and my teammates that want headed to the All Star game. You'll see me in the first 40 seconds of the video.

Catch Up Session

During the holiday season I have not been blogging that much. Here's what's been going on:

Game vs. Tubingen (Germany) Win
Game vs. Khimki (Russia / Euroleague) Loss
Game vs. Weissenfels (Germany) Loss
Game vs. Ulm (Germany) Loss

We suffered some losses, but we're still ranked pretty high in our league. I hope everyone has a great holiday season. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Game Against Armani Jeans Milano

We came to Milan, Italy to play a Euroleague game. This was a must win game for us so we would have a better chance of advancing in the Euroleague. Our wish didn't come true because we loss with a score of 79-51. It didn't seem like our team could score. I had 10 points, and I was the leading scorer for our team. For us to win these games we all need to contribute more points.

Trying to Get A Win

So we've been winning in the German League, but we haven't won a Euroleague game since the first game. The only team we've beaten is Asseco Prokom (Poland). We got that win during the first week of the Euroleague season.

In the past few weeks we've played Giessen, Prokom, Artland, and Milan. I had 15 points against Giessen, and the score ended up being 78-73. We ended up losing this game. After Giessen we played a Euroleague game against Asseco Prokom. We loss that game 82-80. I had 10 points. That was a tough loss, and to make things worse I got sick after the game. I had a bad cold, but was able to shake it off to play at home against the Artland Dragons. I had 5 points and 4 assists in this game. We won with a score of 66-62. We traveled to Milan, Italy that next week to play a Euroleague game ..............

You Win Some You Lose Some

We played a German (Trier) team at home on November 22. We got a win, and everyone was pleased because we beat them with a score of 81-48. Then, we headed to Athens, Greece to play a Euroleague team. It was a tough game against Panathinaikos. We ended up losing 96-63. We went into halftime winning. We just couldn't hold on to that lead.

We really need to win some of these Euroleague games. You have to be one of the top 4 teams in your group to advance. We play Asseco Prokom on December 3. We beat them when we played them at home in Poland. Hopefully, we can beat them again when they come to Germany.

A Tough Loss & A Few Days Off

We suffered a horrible loss to Real Madrid. The score ended up being 61-104. I had 16 points that night in our home gym. Our next game wasn't until the next week so we got 2 days off. It was nice to get a break.

Last night we played Paderborn Baskets, and got a win. One of my friends and college teammates, Terence Dials, plays for Paderborn. It was nice catching up with him. We head to Greece next Tuesday for a Euroleague game.

We Got A Win... Next Up Real Madrid

On November 8, 2009 we played a team from Braunschweig, Germany. We beat them with a score of 80-74. I had 20 points, but to make things even better they were undefeated in the German League. The Phantoms were a great team so we're glad we got the win. This was an exciting win for us.

Tomorrow we play Real Madrid. This team is usually pretty dominant in the Euroleague. Since there are certain requirements for Euroleague games we'll play in a different gym.
I'm looking forward to a great game, and will update everyone with the results. This is the gym (Messenhalle Oldenburg)

When Things Get Tough

These past few weeks have been tough. We suffered some losses in the Euroleague. We loss to Milan at home and Russia away. I had 20 in the Milan game, but it just wasn't our day to win I guess. Last weekend we played in Ludwigsburg, Germany. I played my first professional season there so it was nice to be back where I started my career. It was a good game, but we ended up losing. In situations like this all you can do is keep your head and regroup. I love to win, but I understand you can't win them all.

Hopefully, these next few games will be wins for us. Now, all I can do is rest and stay focused. On to the next game....

My 1st Euroleague Game

We played in our first Euroleague game on October 21 against Asseco Prokom (Poland). We won by 6 with a score of 87-81. This was HUGE because this was our Euroleague debut. I had 20 points with 6 rebounds and 6 assists. It was a GREAT night.

Later in the week we played two German teams. We won both games. I had 14 points against Dusseldorf, and 23 points against Bremenhaven. We're off to a great start this season.

Euroleague

HERE'S WHAT THE EUROLEAGUE HAD TO SAY ABOUT ME....

EWE Baskets Oldenburg extends Je'Kel Foster

Euroleague debutant EWE Baskets Oldenburg kept another key piece of its squad from last season by re-signing guard Je'Kel Foster. Oldenburg now has seven of the eight players that saw action in the last game of the German League finals under contract. Foster (191, 25) scored the most important point of the deciding game, sinking the game-winning free throw with 4 seconds remaining to lift Oldenburg to its first championship ever and into the Euroleague. Foster averaged 12.4 points and 3.1 rebounds in the German League last season and bumped those numbers to 15.4 points and 4.8 rebounds in the finals.

He arrived to Oldenburg after a season in France with Paris Levallois and began his European career at EnBW Ludwigsburg in Germany in the 2006-07 season. Foster first made a name for himself at Ohio State University, where he was among the best three-point shooters in college basketball and was named to the Big 10 All-Defensive Team after his senior season

These words can be found at www.euroleague.net

The Euroleague is the highest level of European basketball. I'm honored to be able to play at this level after just playing 3 professional seasons. I'm excited for all the challenges and victories yet to come

Four Games In

We've played 4 games so far. We played in the Champions Cup against Bonn (the team we beat in the Championship last season). This game doesn't count towards our record, but we WON!

We've also played Bamberg, Frankfurt, and Berlin. We've won every game except against Berlin. These were all top teams in the German League last year. Our record is now 2-1. I'll be headed to Poland tomorrow to play in our first Euroleague game.

Another Side of Basketball

Family is one of the most important things to me. I recently added to my family when I married the love of my life on June 27, 2009. My wife, Ayra, and I met at Ohio State in during my senior year. She is by my side 100%. Marriage and family is an aspect of every career/profession. My marriage is one of the brighter sides of my career. Ayra will also contribute to this blog to keep everyone updated on our endeavors.

WELCOME TO MY WORLD

After spending 3 seasons overseas as a professional basketball player my wife and I have decided to BLOG so that we can stay in touch with all our family, friends, and fans. I am currently playing for the EWE Baskets in Oldenburg, Germany. Previously, I played for a team in Ludwigsburg, Germany and Paris, France. I was able to start a career overseas after playing at The Ohio State University where I helped lead the Buckeyes to a Big 10 championship.

Last year in Oldenburg we won the German Championship which allowed us to advance to the highest level of European Basketball.... The Euroleague. I will use this blog to update you on my everyday life while playing basketball overseas, and I hope that through this blog that someone will learn that hard work does pay off.
